New at Lace: Expanding Patient Education & Content Beyond the Clinic
Discover how Lace's new Learn section and expanded content library are helping audiologists extend patient education beyond the clinic with 68 expert-crafted videos and 8,000+ engaging exercises
When audiologists tell us about their biggest challenges, one theme comes up consistently: there's never enough time to cover everything patients need to know. That's why, as part of our latest platform update, we're excited to announce our new Learn section and expanded content library - designed to put comprehensive hearing education right in your patients' hands.
Reimagining patient education
In partnership with Jennifer Henderson Sabes, AuD, one of the original co-inventors of Lace and Professor of Audiology at University of San Francisco and University of the Pacific, we have just released 65+ bite-sized educational videos that deliver exactly what patients need to know, when they need to know it.
"The key to successful hearing outcomes isn't just about the technology - it's about empowering patients with knowledge and strategies," says Dr. Henderson Sabes. "These educational modules are designed to reinforce clinical best practices and provide patients with practical tools they can apply in their daily lives."
These aren't your typical dry instructional videos. Each one is carefully crafted to address the most critical aspects of hearing health success:
- Evidence-based communication strategies for challenging environments
- Techniques for optimizing listening environments at home and work
- Practical hearing aid care and troubleshooting
- Self-advocacy approaches for better outcomes
- Research-backed strategies for maximizing auditory training benefits
Content that keeps patients engaged
Understanding that engagement drives outcomes, we've expanded our training content from basic exercises to over 8,000 exercises across 27 diverse topics. This expansion represents a fundamental shift in how patients will be able to train using Lace:
For History Buffs and Culture Enthusiasts:
- Decade-specific content from the '50s through '90s
- Cultural touchstones that resonate with patients' experiences
- Historical events that spark recognition and engagement
For Lifelong Learners:
- Philosophy discussions that challenge and engage
- Arts and sciences exploration
- Vocabulary building exercises that expand language skills
For Wellness-Focused Individuals:
- Health and wellness topics that connect hearing to overall well being
- Mental fitness exercises
- Social connection strategies
Why this matters for your practice
Here's the reality: the most effective patient education is the one that actually gets used. By combining essential educational content with engaging training materials, we're helping you:
- Extend expertise beyond office visits with consistent, reliable information created by Audiologists
- Save valuable consultation time by reinforcing key concepts between visits
- Improve patient outcomes through better education and engagement
- Reduce repeat visits for basic troubleshooting and questions
- Build patient confidence and satisfaction with their hearing journey
The result? Patients who are better informed, more engaged, and more likely to succeed with their hearing technology.
Built with our partners, for their patients
Like everything we build at Lace, these updates came directly from conversations with audiologists and patients. You told us you needed better tools for patient education - we listened. But we're not stopping here. This is just the beginning of our commitment to expanding educational resources.
"We're actively seeking input from our audiology partners," says Dr. Miles Aron, Co-founder and COO. "If there are topics you'd like to see covered or concepts your patients struggle with, let us know. This platform will continue to grow based on the needs of practices and their patients."
